Common Name: Lovage
Latin Name: Levisticum officinale
Description: Very tall and spectacular herb with stems similar in appearance and flavour to that of celery. May die down in winter but will reappear in spring. Perennial. 150cm.
Harvesting: Harvest at any time but do not cut the central stem. Use fresh or store dried or frozen.
Best Results: Needs plenty of water in hot weather. Divide during spring of third year.
Uses: Leaves and stems are substitutes for celery. Add to salads, stews and soups or include in butters and dips
Companion: Plant as a backdrop for a perennial border.
