Thyme – Lemon

Common Name: Thyme – Lemon

Latin Name: Thymus x citriodorus

Description: Beautifully lemon-scented, glossy green leaves with small pink flowers in summer. Perennial. 30cm.

Harvesting: Harvest leaves at any time but most flavoursome when in flower. Use fresh or dried

Best Results: For best flavour, do not overfeed or over water. Slightly limey soil.

Uses: Leaves are used to flavour savoury dishes, especially fish, chicken and vegetable dishes. Perfect with marinades and vinegars.

Companion: Contains “thymol”, a strong antiseptic that makes a soothing herbal tea for sore throats.
