Description: Shiny green leaves packed with a lime citrus fragrance. Whorls of flowers appear in summer. Annual. Height 55cm.
Harvesting: Harvest frequently and remove flowers to encourage new growth.
Best Results: Grow in full sun or rich, well drained soil. The more basil is harvested, the more it should be fertilised. Add lots of organic matter.
UsesUse leaves in salads, Asian dishes, herbal teas, oils & vinegar. Also suitable for pot-pourri.
Companion: Rub on skin as repels mosquitoes. Plant near tomatoes to improve flavour.
